Cut these babies out of my sketchbook for proper scanning. Now you can buy ‘em. Go check it out

GIVEAWAY: One original 8” x 10” graphite drawing, a collaboration between myself and Christina Mrozik! Details Below.

Last week a dear friends of ours was one of five folks arrested in association with a banner drop in Roanoke, VA, a combined effort of Mountain Justice, Rising Tide North America and Radical Action for Mountain People’s Survival (RAMPS). Mountain Justice explains that the action was “…in support of community demands in Virginia, Kentucky, West Virginia and Tennessee that billionaire coal baron Jim Justice stop poisoning water, exposing communities to devastating mountaintop removal coal mining operations and leaving central Appalachia a public health disaster.”

We made this drawing of pollinators and flowers from the region impacted by Jim Justice to show our appreciation for those involved in the action, and to support their ongoing campaign. All five folks who were arrested have been released from jail but are facing an ongoing battle in the Virginal legal system. We hope our drawing will help spread their story and encourage you to help by contributing to the cause.

Thank you for your support!

We will randomly select a winner on 9/14.

Slow but steady! Another detail of that piece from yesterday - birds and botanicals you can see on Hurricane Island in the month of June.

Hurricane Island has a lovely little collection of bird skeletons and feathers. This morning I finished up a couple illustrations of bird species represented in their lab 🐦
